My Role

I was responsible for the experience strategy and design of the new features of the product.

  • Real authentic interactions and networking opportunities for attendees.

  • Easy access to admin tools for organizers to conduct events.

The Solution

  • Real-life Event Room: Virtual event and networking space that helps people to interact real-time for an authentic human experience.

  • Speed Networking: Extend professional network with speed networking and invite attendees for one-on-one sessions or private group discussions.

  • In-app chat: Learn and engage with attendees, ask questions or network without delay.

  • Accessible admin tools: Helps organizers to easily check-in attendees, run networking sessions to deliver a great attendee experience.

The Process

Discovery - Focusing on the Goals

Meeting with key stakeholders helped me to gather requirements and understand the scope and business challenges. Together we identify the friction points and aligned our expectations and construct a shared vision for the product.

By this time, we try to define our user, goals and key questions.

User: Event Organizer/Planners

Goal: Lifograph is the go-to-place for event organizers to deliver a great attendee experience.

Key questions that we want to answer with our prototype:

  • Can we make the event experience real-life, fun and engaging for attendees?

  • Can we guide organizers to conduct events smoothly and deliver great attendee experience?

Next, we created a task flow to understand the attendee experience and the steps the user takes to attend the event.

Understanding Attendee Experience

Task Flow (happy path) for attendee to join the Event Room.

Competitive Analysis

I did competitive analysis to understand what are the existing products in the market and how they focus on attendee engagement and help organizers manage tasks easily. We discussed ideas that could work for us and improve the experience for the users.

Then I work on some design concepts and facilitate brainstorming sessions where we discuss ideas and craft out a vision and roadmap for the problem that we are trying to solve. All of this happens in collaboration with the project managers, engineers, devs and colleagues in my team.

As part of the design process, I conduct usability testing throughout the process to understand what the users needs were, whether the design is improving the experience and meeting the goals set out in the beginning. The usability testing helps to:

  • Validate design decisions

  • To come back to your goals and see if the users needs are met in the design
